Eucomis names is derived from the Greek eukomes, which means beautiful headed, a reference to the tuft of leaves at the crown of the flower spike. It is more commonly known as the Pineapple Lily, or Cape Hyacinth.
These marvelous and amazingly easy plants has its habitat in Tropical and South Africa, it can be found in Kwazulu Natal, Transvaal, Swaziland and also the Eastern Cape.
